The Swedish Gender Equality Agency's thesis competition was organized for the first time in 2021. The content related criterion for participation in the competition is that the essay contributes to knowledge about gender equality policy or social development based on the ambitions of gender equality policy.

Robert 脰stling, Ulrika Ahrsj枚, Chloe Nibourel and Mark Voorneveld, at the Department of Economics at SSE, receive funding for their respective research projects.

Carl Bennet and the Marianne & Marcus Wallenberg Foundation join forces to sponsor a new professorship at the 海角社区下载 School of Economics. This enables internationally acclaimed Martina Bj枚rkman Nyqvist to continue her important research on development economics and children鈥檚 health and education as the new Carl Bennet & Marianne and Marcus Wallenberg Chair in Economics.

Abhijeet Singh, Associate Professor at the Department of Economics and Affiliated Researcher at Misum, has been awarded a Starting Grant from the European Research Council for a project studying social inclusion in private schools in India. His research project is one of only twelve in Sweden to receive the grant this year.

Mark Voorneveld, Associate Professor of Economics at Department of Economics at SSE, has been awarded MSc Teacher of the Year by the Education Committee, SASSE. Mark was awarded for being an incredibly engaging and thorough teacher that truly provided the students with guidance and care.

In August, Celine Zipfel, Assistant Professor at the Department of Economics at SSE, was awarded for 鈥嬧�媜utstanding pedagogical achievements at SSE. Celine was awarded for her work in redesigning an MSc course on Development Economics with great success. The course was highly appreciated among students, covering a wide range of topics and giving a holistic view of the field.

Good news from the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences (Kungliga Vetenskapsakademien): Anna Dreber Almenberg has been elected as a Member of the Academy鈥檚 class for social sciences. Anna is a professor of economics at the 海角社区下载 School of Economics.

Associate Professor Martina Bj枚rkman Nyqvist has been awarded the SSE Corporate Partner Research Award 2020 for her groundbreaking work in development economics. Marie Ehrling, Chairman of Securitas, presented the award, which amounts to 100,000 SEK.

Filip Mellgren was awarded first prize in this year鈥檚 thesis competition at the Swedish Competition Authority in the business administration and economics category for his thesis 鈥淭acit collusion with deep multi-agent reinforcement learning鈥�.

Robert 脰stling has been appointed Professor of Economics at the 海角社区下载 School of Economics. His main interest lies in the fields of applied microeconomics and behavioral economics.
