Record number of House of Innovation teachers join SSE’s Distinguished Educators’ Network

As part of its unwavering commitment to delivering top-tier education, the has developed its own Educational Improvement System. Within this framework designed to elevate academic excellence across all programs, one of the key elements is the “SSE Distinguished Educator Network”. During the first study period of 2025, a record number of House of Innovation teachers have been invited to join this initiative.

Driving excellence with pedagogical innovation

At the core of SSE’s Educational Improvement System lies a series of strategic initiatives aimed at elevating the quality of education across every program - from Bachelor to Master, PhD, and MBA.

Led by the Vice President of Degree Programs in close collaboration with the Quality Assurance team, this forward-thinking framework combines rigorous quality assurance with ongoing development, embodying SSE’s steadfast commitment to delivering world-class education.

“The Educational Improvement System encourages us to continuously evolve, ensuring that every program at SSE delivers an exceptional, future-ready learning experience.” comments Pär Åhlström, Vice President of Degree Programs at SSE.

Celebrating excellence over lunch

Over the past ten years, the Vice President of Degree Programs has been hosting so-called “Pedagogical Lunches” quarterly - exclusive gatherings that recognize and celebrate standout teaching at SSE. These informal events bring together a selected group of faculty members whose courses have demonstrated exceptional quality and impact in their teaching.

More than just a social event, these lunches honor those who’ve made a difference in the classroom, based on a thoughtful review of course evaluation data, including indicators such as high student satisfaction, strong teaching scores, or notable improvements from previous course iterations.

“Being invited to a pedagogical lunch like this felt truly rewarding, and it was very much appreciated to have our teaching efforts recognized in such a personal way. We have all invested a great deal of time in developing and managing our courses, so it is especially gratifying to see that it is appreciated by our talented students – and acknowledged by the school” notes Rickard Sandberg, Associate Professor at the House of Innovation and the Center for Data Analytics

Redefining education: House of Innovation as a catalyst for teaching excellence

This term, six teachers at House of Innovation were distinguished: Rickard Sandberg, Sam Cao, Kathrin Reinsberger, Iman Parsa, Håkan Lyckeborg and Johan Båge.

"The lunch was a great opportunity to share and exchange experiences with other dedicated teachers and to learn from how they approach their courses. There were many commonalities, but also inspiring ideas and initiatives to explore further.” adds Rickard Sandberg.

The House of Innovation and the broader SSE community extend their warmest congratulations to all the distinguished educators on this well-earned recognition and look forward to their continued contributions to the field of innovation education.
