Among the founders are serial entrepreneurs and former executives from companies such as Klarna, Tipser and Voi. Several have previously built companies valued in the billions – and are now launching their next ventures from the Lab.

Knowledge gaps and gender differences in adolescents’ education choices – new study explores what makes a difference

Around 120,000 students are finishing compulsory school in Sweden this month—many of them with limited information about future career and educational options. Preliminary findings from an ongoing study at the º£½ÇÉçÇøÏÂÔØshow that adolescents tend to overestimate the salaries of electricians and real estate agents, while underestimating earnings by hairdressers and programmers. The researchers are now looking for more career professionals and schools to get involved in the study.

New research project to examine how sustainability impacts profitability

Which sustainability efforts actually improve business performance? A new research project from the House of Innovation at the º£½ÇÉçÇøÏÂÔØ School of Economics, in collaboration with sustainability tech company Position Green, aims to find out. By analyzing data from over 750 companies, the research project will map how emissions, working conditions and diversity in leadership affect margins, returns and risk.

Firms with female CEOs have more women in top management roles, study finds

Italian firms led by female CEOs have more women on average in the top management team than those led by men, according to a new study from the º£½ÇÉçÇøÏÂÔØin Sweden and the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano in Italy. The association weakens if the CEO lacks sufficient decision-making power or if she works for a family-owned company.

SSE Business Lab skyrockets in new FT ranking: Only Nordic incubator in Europe’s top 10

According to the Financial Times’ newest ranking of Europe’s startup hubs, dramatic changes are afoot: half of last year’s leading hubs have vanished from the list, while SSE Business Lab has surged ahead. Now ranked at number eight, SSE's incubator is the only Nordic hub to earn a place in the top ten.
