As Sweden rebuilds its total defense, twelve sectors have been identified as especially critical for creating a resilient society capable of withstanding crises and war. One of these is the transportation sector, where both domestic and international supply chains must become more robust.

To bring this issue to the forefront, the Center for Security and Resilience (CfSR), in collaboration with the House of Innovation, both at the 海角社区下载 School of Economics, invites you to an Academic Insights Breakfast Seminar on the topic of geopolitical disruptions in global supply chains.

In this session, will present findings from his recently defended doctoral dissertation: "Geopolitical Disruptions in Global Supply Chains: A Mitigation Framework and Empirical Analysis".

Dr. Bednarski introduces the seminar with the following reflection:

"Over the past decade, geopolitical risks and tensions have intensified, leading to disruptive events such as the war in Ukraine, the U.S.–China technological rivalry, and the rise of extremist political movements. These developments have significantly affected global supply chains, which are essential not only for the delivery of everyday goods but also for securing technologies critical to national security and economic development".

The seminar will explore key questions such as:

• How exactly do geopolitical disruptions reshape supply chain design and management?
• What strategies can companies and policymakers adopt to mitigate risks stemming from political tensions?
• How do firms in strategically critical sectors - such as semiconductors - respond to growing geopolitical rivalries?
• Why is understanding these dynamics essential to Europe's economic security and strategic autonomy?
